Polivka Logan is looking for a talented, experienced Design Manager to lead the design team in our new Boston office. You’ll work closely with the Vice President of Design to grow the business though hiring talented designers, winning new clients, and delivering outstanding design work.

The Design Manager reports directly to the Vice President of Design and is responsible for:

• Leading the delivery of design strategy and development projects that meet design, marketing, production, and management objectives across a broad range of consumer, medical and industrial products
• Exceptional communication and presentation skills that help grow lasting and effective client relationships
• Supporting account management and sales on proposals, project tracking, and budget management
• Strong creative problem solving and form development skills coupled with the desire to address real user and business needs
• Effective collaboration with design colleagues, engineering staff and clients
• Inspiring, motivating and mentoring a talented team of industrial designers

The ideal candidate should have a portfolio that demonstrates outstanding design skills, extensive product development experience and meets the following requirements:

• Outstanding visual design, form development and user-centered design skills
• Strong creative and team leadership abilities
• Demonstrated experience leading teams through the product design and development process
• Ability to manage multiple projects with various disciplines and deadlines
• Self-motivated with a high level of responsibility and professionalism
• Exceptional communication skills (writing, listening, presenting)
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Industrial Design
• Minimum 7-10 years of product design and development experience
• Experience designing consumer electronics and medical products a plus
• 3-D modeling and rendering (Alias/Solidworks/ProE) and 2-D illustration and layout (Adobe Creative Suite) skills are required.
